PUĀWAI
Puāwai is a healing - and oranga - centred learning and support programme
Our range of Puāwai programmes respectfully braid the best of Mātauranga Māori and other knowledge streams, such as positive psychology and strengths-based solutions. Puāwai programmes support and strengthen oranga | wellbeing by uplifting the skills and knowledge of participants to look after themselves and others.
The overarching intent is to provide training, support, and development to build capability and capacity for intergenerational wellbeing.
OUR APPROACH
Our approach is reflected in our whakataukī:
Whāngaihia kia tipu, kia Puāwai
That which is nurtured, blossoms and grows.
Puāwai Programmes
Each Puāwai programme is delivered via modular-based learning. Each module contains information about key topics andrange of practical tips and tools that support and maintain the wellbeing and resilience of participants. Every module begins and ends with tikanga Māori (such as whanaungatanga, karakia | te reo blessings) to ensure the wairua and mauri of each session is uplifted for all, through sharing the beauty of mātauranga Māori.
Every participant walks away with a common language about wellbeing, and the ability to put into place wellbeing actions, for themselves and others, in real-time. Our participants love the easy-to-understand and practical nature of the programmes, and the 'quick results' because they can make a positive difference in their lives the same day.
